HSSC Welcomes Girls Inc. Sarasota Project Accelerate Interns
The Humane Society of Sarasota County (HSSC) has had the delight of hosting a handful of participants from Girls Inc. Sarasota's Project Accelerate Program this summer. The program is designed to support young women through their next critical transitions—from high school through college and career. We had participants working across several departments at HSSC—animal care, medical, philanthropy, and marketing. They helped with high-volume spay/neuter days, the animal intake process, data entry, and creating marketing materials for an adoption promotion.
Girls Inc. Sarasota recently won "Non-Profit Organization of the Year" at the 2024 Greater Sarasota Chamber Frank G. Berlin, Sr. Small Business Awards, and we're so honored they entrusted their young women to learn from HSSC's staff this summer.
