These volunteers learn how to help with laundry, washing bowls, and provide daily enrichment items. As a Feline Friend volunteer, you will play a vital role in providing care and enrichment for our feline residents at the Humane Society of Sarasota County. Your primary responsibilities will involve ensuring the well-being and happiness of our cats, preparing them for adoption, and promoting their adoption to loving homes.

These volunteers support the adoption team by helping potential adopters find the perfect match for their lifestyle and family. Adoption Matchmakers work under the guidance of the adoption team and are essential to helping our animals find their best home.

The volunteers assist HSSC at events in our community where we are raising awareness of our mission and promoting animals available for adoption. Typically, staff attend events with volunteer support.

HSSC's Teen Volunteer Program is for teens ages 13-17. HSSC offers a variety of activities for teen volunteers to participate in including dog and cat care, enrichment, pet pantry and other support work. 

HSSC embraces corporate and civic groups that would like to make a difference in our community by improving the lives of animals. HSSC will customize your group's volunteer experience to meet your needs.

Volunteers also help manage the Donation Bank Program, lend their photography and videography skills to promote adoptable animals, distribute food for the Pet Pantry Program, and help keep the shelter running smoothly in countless ways.
