HSSC Welcomes Cats and Dogs Impacted by Hurricane Helene

The Humane Society of Sarasota County (HSSC) is grateful to share that our animals and facility are safe and secure after Hurricane Helene. We are now focused on animals impacted by the storm across the state of Florida. On Friday, we welcomed cats and dogs from a shelter that lost power and reached out to the state for help. HSSC immediately jumped into action to save nearly 20 lives.

Hurricane Helene relief efforts are just beginning, and we know the state of Florida has a long road to recovery. The areas around us and to our north are dealing with devastating destruction that has left many animals in need of shelter and veterinary care. HSSC is prepared to serve as a lifesaving superhighway for the animals and shelters impacted by the storm, but we can't do it without you! Your support provides the resources to transport and care for these animals. Donate today to save a life!
