Rise to the challenge or you'll be in the dog house—literally!
Combining the excitement of a giving day, the competitive element of a team fundraiser, and the entertainment of a lock-up event, the Humane Society of Sarasota County presents the first-ever Generosity Unleashed. Harnessing the power of peer-to-peer fundraising, this mostly virtual fundraising event is an amazing opportunity to raise funds for HSSC while also having fun.
How It Works:
Each Champion must raise $5,000 for HSSC between Thursday, June 17, and 10am on Friday, July 16. Champions have their own donation pages where they can tell their HSSC story and share why this is a cause near and dear to their hearts. If they don't raise the money in time, they'll be "locked up" in either a dog or cat room* at HSSC for about an hour, during which time they'll be smiling and dialing their contacts to get them to donate and bail them out.
Champions can be individuals or teams. Champions who hit their $5,000 goal before July 16 will not be locked up. This is a great way to show your support for a cause you care about and involve your circle of friends and family.
All proceeds raised will be put toward HSSC's capital campaign to renovate and expand our campus, ultimately allowing us to help 2,700 animals each year (that's 900 more than before!). All together, we hope to raise $100,000 during this month-long event.
We'll provide Champions with marketing materials, a customizable online giving page, complete support, and lots of good-natured fun. There will be prizes for the Champions who raise the most.
*Don’t worry, Champions. Your kennel is state-of-the art. You’ll have air conditioning, water, and your very own bed, plus treats and toys if you’re good! You may even get a puppy or kitten to cuddle. 😊
