Howdy, I'm Beau. I'm a veeery nervous pup searchin fur someone to show me the world ain't such a spooky place. I've got a purple dot cause I'm so darn scared here at the shelter, so I gotta go to a home with an experienced dog owner, and no kiddos! Right now, I'm on a medication called Fluoxetine to help with my anxiety, and it helps me a lot, but a calm environment is going to be super important to help me feel at home. I don't mind taking my meds though, I eat them right up with a good snack to wash it down! I'm nervous around other dogs, but I don't mind the company of a calm cat. My foster tells me I'm a real good boy; I'm totally house broken and I don't need to be crated at night! I don't enjoy car rides very much, but I'm still on my best behavior when we're out for a drive. I'm not exactly what you'd call a social butterfly, but if you could take me home and show me a little love, I'd be ever so grateful! Interested in one of our Ambassador Program pets? Please give us a call so we can set up an appointment, as this pet is in a foster home! You can talk directly with their foster parent and have the advantage of knowing exactly what they're like in a home. We would be happy to arrange a meet and greet at your convenience. Interested in one of our heartworm positive dogs? HSSC has finished treating this dog for heartworms, they will only need to maintain low activity for a little while longer. A heartworm treated dog's lifespan isn't shortened, and they are not contagious to your other pets. Looking at one of our long-term pets? We offer "Slumber Parties" with animals showing this tag near their kennel cards! The slumber party is an extended trial period where the available animal stays in your home for 3 days - 30 days. HSSC will provide all their food, medications, and necessities during this time. Should you fall in love with your new friend during this time, you simply return to HSSC to complete the adoption and live happily ever after. Should you decide that the animal is not right for you, you just bring them back to HSSC, and know that with feedback about their behavior, you have helped us look for the best home for them. Let us know if you are interested in this offer!
